As a commercial staffing and recruiting service, we use your resume to connect you with potential employers and generate revenue through successful placements.
Critical Information - Please Read Carefully
By uploading your resume to Workisy, you explicitly authorize us to use your resume for commercial purposes. This means:
- We will share your resume with companies that pay for our recruiting services
- We earn revenue when you are successfully placed in a job through our platform
- Your resume will be stored in our commercial database accessible to our clients
- We may promote your profile to multiple employers without individual consent for each submission
If you do not agree to this commercial use, please do not upload your resume to our platform.
How We Use Your Resume
1. Distribution to Employers
Your resume will be shared with:
- Companies actively searching for candidates with your skills and experience
- Organizations that have engaged our recruiting services
- Employers who subscribe to our candidate database
- Hiring managers and HR professionals at client companies
2. Candidate Database Inclusion
Your resume will be added to our searchable candidate database, which allows our recruiters and clients to:
- Search for candidates based on skills, experience, location, and other criteria
- View your full resume and contact information
- Export your resume for review and evaluation
- Track your application history and status
3. Proactive Marketing
We may proactively market your profile to potential employers by:
- Submitting your resume to job openings that match your qualifications
- Presenting your profile in candidate shortlists and recommendations
- Contacting you about relevant opportunities
- Showcasing your skills in marketing materials (anonymized data only)

Your resume will be processed using artificial intelligence technologies, including OpenAI services, to:

Commercial Nature of Our Services
How We Generate Revenue
Workisy is a commercial staffing and recruiting business. We generate revenue through:
- Placement Fees: Employers pay us when we successfully place candidates (typically 15-25% of first-year salary)
- Subscription Services: Companies pay for access to our candidate database
- Recruiting Services: Clients engage us to fill specific positions
- Contract Staffing: We may act as employer of record for temporary placements
Important: Our services are free for job seekers. We earn our fees from employers, not from candidates. However, this means your resume is a valuable asset in our commercial operations.
Your Rights and Control
Resume Ownership
You retain full ownership of your resume content. The license you grant us is non-exclusive, meaning you can also provide your resume to other recruiting agencies, job boards, or directly to employers.
Update Your Resume
You can update your resume at any time by logging into your account. Updated versions will replace the previous version in our database.
Delete Your Resume
You may request deletion of your resume and profile by:
- Deleting your account through account settings
- Contacting us at privacy@appitsoftware.com
- Following the unsubscribe process in our communications
Note: After deletion, we will remove your resume from our active database. However, resumes already shared with clients may have been downloaded or stored by those employers and are outside our control. We may also retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as completing ongoing placements).
Restrict Sharing
You may request restrictions on sharing your resume with specific companies (e.g., your current employer). Contact us to set up these restrictions.
Notification Preferences
You can control whether we contact you about job opportunities by adjusting your notification settings or unsubscribing from emails.
Resume Security and Protection
We implement security measures to protect your resume, including:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest
- Access controls limiting who can view resumes
- Vetting of employer clients before granting database access
- Audit trails tracking resume access and distribution
- Regular security assessments and updates
However, once shared with employers, we cannot control how they use or protect your information. We encourage you to review employers' privacy practices.
What We Don't Do
To protect your interests, we commit to the following:
- We will not sell your resume to third parties for their independent marketing purposes
- We will not share your resume with employers you've explicitly blocked
- We will not charge you fees for job placements
- We will not alter your resume content without your permission (except formatting)
- We will not use your personal data to train AI models (per OpenAI enterprise terms)
Best Practices for Candidates
To protect yourself when submitting your resume:
- Review Your Resume: Ensure all information is accurate and current before uploading
- Protect Sensitive Data: Consider removing or redacting highly sensitive information (e.g., full Social Security Number)
- Use a Professional Email: Use a professional email address for communications
- Keep It Updated: Regularly update your resume to reflect your current status
- Set Preferences: Configure your privacy and notification settings appropriately
- Monitor Activity: Check your account regularly for activity and opportunities
- Report Issues: Contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your resume
Resume Retention Period
We retain resumes in our active database as long as your account is active. If you do not log in for 24 months, we may archive or deactivate your profile, but we will not delete it without your request. To permanently delete your resume, you must submit a deletion request.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Resume Usage Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or through a notice on our platform. Your continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
