Squad Lead

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Squad Lead with expertise in Java, Spring, Microservices, server administration (any 2 servers: JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic, or WebSphere), Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure), DevOps practices, and containerization. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 years of overall experience with a focus on leading teams and delivering impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Led a squad of talented developers and engineers to design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable solutions using Java, Spring, and Microservices architecture.
• Architect and manage server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in software development, including coding standards, design patterns, and test-driven development.
• Utilize Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure to build and deploy applications, leveraging cloud-native services and infrastructure as code.
• Implement DevOps practices to automate build, deployment, and monitoring processes, ensuring continuous integration and delivery.
• Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate containerized workloads using Kubernetes or similar technologies.
• Mentor and coach team members, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
• Collaborate with other squads and teams to align on architecture, standards, and processes.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on our technology stack and solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of overall IT experience with a focus on Java development, Spring framework, and Microservices architecture.
• Experience in leading teams and delivering projects in an Agile environment.
• Proficiency in server administration, with experience in at least two of the following servers: JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic, or WebSphere.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including experience with infrastructure as code and cloud-native services.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in relevant technologies such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience with other middleware and integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Apache Kafka, or IBM Integration Bus.
• Knowledge of modern front-end technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
